Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SVG and Me ("SVG and Me," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of tools.svgandme.com and the tools, pages, and features available on it (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, creating an account, or clicking "I agree" during sign-up, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to them, please don't use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you're under 18, you confirm you have a parent or guardian's permission to use it.

SVG and Me is an individually-run project, part of the svg & me community at svgandme.com. tools.svgandme.com provides free browser-based image tools for crafters — currently including a Background Remover, PNG to SVG Converter, Silhouette Maker, Canva Frame Maker, Stencil Maker, Rhinestone Template Maker, 3D Mandala Maker, Crop Tool, Image Upscaler, and Sticker Splitter, plus whatever we add after this was last updated.

Most tools on this site run entirely in your own browser, on your own device. When you upload an image to remove its background, trace it to SVG, upscale it, crop it, or build a stencil, that image is processed locally by your browser — it is not sent to, or stored on, our servers. Some tools briefly download AI model files from a third-party host (Hugging Face) the first time you use them; those are general-purpose model files, not your images. We describe exactly what does and doesn't leave your device in our Privacy Policy.

Because processing happens on your device, we generally have no visibility into, copy of, or control over the images you process — which also means we can't recover a file for you if something goes wrong locally, and we can't review content before you generate it.

You don't need an account to use the free tools. An account (via Google sign-in or email and password) is required for an ad-free membership and to manage billing. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up, and tell us at svgandme@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

You own your images. We don't claim any ownership over content you upload or create using the Service.

You are solely responsible for every image, photo, design, or file you upload, and for confirming you actually have the legal right to use it — meaning you own the copyright to it, or you have a valid license or permission from the copyright holder that covers what you intend to do with it (including running it through our tools and using the result).

Do not upload content that:

• infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, right of publicity, or other intellectual property or legal rights (this includes stock photos you don't have a commercial license for, other designers' artwork, copyrighted characters, brand logos, and photos of people who haven't consented to their use);
• is illegal, or that you don't have permission to possess or use; or
• violates any other person's privacy or other rights.

Running a file through one of our tools — removing a background, tracing it, upscaling it, or splitting it into stickers — changes its format or appearance, but it does not give you any new rights to the underlying content. A tool output made from artwork you didn't have rights to is still, legally, that artwork.

By default, everything you download from the Service — on the free plan or Personal Ad-Free — is licensed for personal use only. That means you can keep it, print it, gift it, or use it in your own projects, but you may not sell it, license it, or otherwise distribute it commercially.

To use anything you create commercially — selling physical products, digital files, or designs — both of the following must be true:

• You have the rights to the source image. You must own the copyright to the original image you uploaded, or otherwise hold rights sufficient to cover commercial use. If you don't own the underlying image (for example, you traced someone else's clipart, a stock photo licensed for personal use only, or copyrighted fan art), you may not sell or commercially distribute the result, no matter how much a tool changed its appearance. Running a file through one of our tools doesn't give you any new rights to content you didn't already have the right to use.
• You have an active Pro membership. Your Pro subscription ($9/month or $39/year) includes a commercial license for any file you create with these tools while your subscription is active. Anything you make during that time stays licensed — you can keep selling those products indefinitely, even after you cancel. To create new files for commercial use, you'll need an active subscription.

When in doubt about your rights to a source image, don't use it commercially, or check with the original creator or copyright holder first.

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to create unlawful content;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying code, models, or infrastructure;
• circumvent any rate limits, paywalls, or access controls, or resell or redistribute the Service itself; or
• use the Service to generate content that is intended to harass, defame, exploit, or deceive others.

The Service's design, branding, code, and text (excluding your own uploaded content and its resulting output) belong to SVG and Me or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service itself without our permission.

The Service is supported by advertising served through Raptive/AdThrive, and links out to third-party sites, including affiliate links. This may include participation in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com, as well as affiliate links such as our Daily Freebies promotion linking to Creative Fabrica. We aren't responsible for third-party sites' content, policies, or practices — review their own terms and privacy policies before using them. Affiliate links mean we may earn a commission if you make a qualifying purchase through them, at no extra cost to you.

All tools are free to use without any plan. We offer three optional paid plans, billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, our payment processor — we don't store your full card details ourselves:

• Personal Ad-Free ($19/year): removes ads across the Service. Files you create remain personal use only — see Section 6.
• Pro Monthly ($9/month) and Pro Annual ($39/year): remove ads and add a commercial license for what you create, as described in Section 6.

Cancel any time, no questions asked. There's no minimum commitment and no retention hoops — cancel from your account page in a couple of clicks whenever you want, and your plan's benefits continue through the end of the period you've already paid for. Because membership is this flexible, payments are non-refundable once a billing period has started, the same way a streaming or gym membership works: if you cancel partway through a month or year, you keep full access until that period ends, we just don't prorate or refund the unused portion. This keeps things simple (and the price low) for everyone.

We may change membership pricing going forward; we'll give you reasonable notice before a price change affects your existing subscription.

Several tools (like background removal and image upscaling) use automated, AI-based models to produce their results. These results are algorithmically generated and may be imperfect, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your particular image — we don't guarantee any specific level of quality or accuracy, and you should review results before relying on them.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SVG and Me will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service — including any copyright claim arising from content you uploaded. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim arose.

You agree to defend and hold SVG and Me harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your use of the Service; content you upload or create; your violation of these Terms; or your infringement of any third party's intellectual property or other rights.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, including your account, if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time by contacting us.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If a change is material, we'll make reasonable efforts to let you know.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [state/country to be specified], without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
